Lunar Mansions in History

From Al Biruni, 11th Century
Al ghafr is formed by two small stars on the train, dhail, of Virgo, quite inconspicuous; the name is derived from their concealment.

From Abenragel, 11th Century
Indian – Good to dig wells and ditches, to cure illnesses to do with wind, but not others. Bad for journeys.
Dorotheos – Good for moving house, for adapting or preparing a house, its owner and site. Good to seek to do a good deed, to buy and sell, but selling slaves not livestock, because Libra is a human sign. Bad for both land and sea journeys. Marriage will not last in harmony, or only for a while. Partnerships entered will lead to fraud and discord. Money lent will not be returned. Bad for cutting hair.

From Picatrix, 11th Century
The fifteenth Mansion is Algafra, and it is for the acquisition of friendship and all good things that may be desired. When the Moon has passed into this Mansion, fashion from ink [and parchment] the figure of a seated man, holding scrolls in his hand as if they had been collected together . Cense it with frankincense and nutmeg and say: You, Achalich, do such and such for me, and make things comply with my wishes. You may ask him for the joining together of friends and lovers, and anything which pertains to them, and this image should then be carried with you. And know that Achalich is the name of the lord of this Mansion.

From Warnock, 21st Century
While this mansion appears, it signifies that we could focus our attention on business and the earning of wealth. This mansion is a positive indication for all questions concerning wealth and prosperity. It often announces the imminent arrival of a positive message or communication regarding money or business. Note, however, that the youth is alone in the great expanse of the mosque. Our attention is on the material, rather than on romantic love, which is inauspicious in this mansion. Keywords: Veiling, realization of desires and wishes, hidden splendors
